Description of school:

Founded in 1965 and originating from the Belgian curriculum, École Polaris welcomes students from kindergarten through the end of secondary school in a multicultural environment. Located in Kigali, Rwanda, the school began its transition to the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes during the 2025–2026 school year.

Committed to the philosophy of the International Baccalaureate, the school offers a French-language education and enriched with strong English-language instruction.

École Polaris is authorised to offer the Diploma Programme (DP). École Polaris is also a candidate school for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP), both programmes being on the point of obtaining their authorisation.

Description of position:

• École Polaris is seeking a part-time Sciences teacher for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). 

• Teaching is conducted in French. The successful candidate will plan and deliver lessons in line with IB philosophy and work collaboratively with the Sciences department.

Profile:

• University degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a related scientific field

• Experience teaching Science at secondary level

• Fluent in French (teaching is conducted in French)

• Knowledge of the IB programmes is an asset
