Description of School:
Kosice International School is the first international school in Eastern Slovakia. Our school is a PYP-authorised and MYP-candidate school. Currently, we provide education for children from 3-15 years old. Due to the positive growth of student numbers, we require another PYP Classroom Teacher to join the team in March 2024.
Description of Position:
We are looking to employ a positive, passionate and motivated inquiry teacher with experience in teaching a lower primary classroom. The role of the PYP classroom teacher will be to facilitate inquiry-based learning, help students to develop conceptual understanding, and create a positive and safe learning environment that can provoke agency.
Criteria:
The successful candidate will:
Be of native-level English language abilities.
Demonstrate strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
Have relevant teaching qualifications and proven teaching experience, preferably in an IB PYP setting.
Have prior homeroom teaching experience, including teaching a range of disciplines.
Have developed classroom management skills.
Have experience teaching students with diverse cultures, needs, and abilities.
Have experience implementing technology into inquiry-based learning.
Have knowledge and/or experience of, and a commitment to, the educational philosophy of the IB and the IB Learner Profile.
Expectations:
Design, deliver and evaluate lessons that stimulate and motivate student inquiry and
action.
Model an inquiry approach to teaching and learning.
Lead one after-school club per week.
Actively participate in the school events
Promote positive working atmosphere
Effectively communicate with parents through Toddle platform
Collaborate with others in school planning, celebrations, events, and meetings required to implement the programme
