At The International School of São Paulo (GIS SP), we follow the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), which is designed to nurture and develop the whole child academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Description of Position: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic International Teacher to join our team at The International School of São Paulo (GIS SP). As an International Teacher, you will play a key role in implementing the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) curriculum, fostering inquiry-based learning, and nurturing the holistic development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a diverse classroom of international students, providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Implement the IB PYP curriculum, incorporating inquiry-based teaching methodologies to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
Plan and deliver transdisciplinary units of inquiry that promote critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including English language learners and students with varying learning styles.
Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support their growth and development.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders to support the overall well-being and academic success of students.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay abreast of current educational trends.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
Teaching certification/license
Experience teaching in an IB PYP or similar inquiry-based programme
English as a first language (additional language proficiency is an advantage)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning community
Willing to learn about the Brazilian culture
