Founded in 2009, International School of Hellerup is a not-for-profit IB Continuum World School in Copenhagen offering IB Programmes from Pre-K - Grade 12. Our mission is to provide the highest quality education in a student-centered environment by empowering individuals to fulfil their human potential to become purposeful life-long learners and responsible global citizens.


Description of Position:


We are seeking an experienced and visionary High School Principal to lead and enhance our MYP5 and Diploma Programme. This role requires a dynamic leader who fosters inquiry, collaboration, and academic excellence while ensuring alignment with IB standards and the school’s mission of international-mindedness. The position commences in March 2026.


Key Responsibilities:


Academic Leadership & Programme Implementation

  • Lead MYP and DP curriculum development and interdisciplinary learning.

  • Ensure alignment of the curriculum across grade levels.

  • Support teachers in integrating IB principles, including the Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning/Teaching.


Staffing & Professional Development

  • Oversee high school staffing, ensuring alignment with school and IB goals.

  • Facilitate professional learning and collaborative planning.

  • Provide feedback and mentorship to enhance instructional quality.


Student-Centred Learning & Well-being

  • Monitor student progress using data-driven strategies.

  • Collaborate with Student Support to foster inclusion and well-being.

  • Promote social-emotional learning and skill development.


Community Engagement

  • Communicate the IB philosophy to parents and the school community.

  • Lead parent workshops and information sessions.

  • Strengthen the school’s culture of inquiry and international-mindedness. Administrative & IB Compliance

  • Serve as the primary IB liaison, ensuring programme compliance.

  • Oversee scheduling, assessment timelines, and policy development.

  • Manage the professional development budget for MYP 5 and DP staff.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Advanced degree in Education or a related field.

  • Leadership experience in an IB MYP or DP setting (preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of inquiry-based teaching and international education.

  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
