About the School Established in 1992, International School Nadi is an independent non-profit school for students aged 3-18 years. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum School, our accredited IB Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma programmes are offered to a diverse student body and aim to develop our students into resilient, empathetic and inquisitive individuals who think critically and creatively, with the courage and conviction to take positive action locally and globally. The school campus is located in Nadi, the tourism hub of the Fiji islands. Although a small community, Nadi provides a range of opportunities for short island vacations along with activities like hiking, watersports and ziplining.
International School Nadi is seeking a committed, experienced, and passionate Head of Science Department / IB MYP & DP Science Teacher to commence in September 2025. The successful candidate will lead the Secondary Science Department and teach MYP Integrated Science and DP Chemistry and/or Biology to students with diverse interests and abilities. Key responsibilities will include overseeing curriculum development, mentoring staff, and fostering a collaborative learning environment. The candidate will also plan and deliver an engaging inquiry-based curriculum, assess student progress through various methods, and tailor instruction to meet individual needs. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to extracurricular activities and excursions to support a well-rounded education.
The successful candidate will be required to teach music across the PYP and MYP programmes to students with a diverse range of interests and abilities. Essential Qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Education majoring in the relevant subject or a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject with postgraduate studies in Education.
At least two years of experience teaching IB Diploma Biology and/or Chemistry
Desirable:
Ability to teach both IB Diploma Biology and Chemistry.
Educated to the Master’s Level.
Completion of Category 2 or higher IB Professional Development workshops in Science.
At least two years of experience teach both DP and MYP Science.
Proven experience in a curriculum leadership role.
Experience teaching IB Theory of Knowledge.
Working knowledge of Managebac, Google Suite and Canva.
Experience as an IB Extended Essay and/or Personal Project supervisor.
Experience as an IB examiner, workshop leader, or in another role within the IB Educator Network (IBEN).
