Description of Position:

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Deputy Principal to join our school’s senior leadership team. As a premier international school in South Africa, we provide a holistic, globally-minded education, and we are looking for a leader who can inspire excellence in both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Assist the Head of School in the daily management and long-term strategic planning of the Primary School.

• Academic Excellence: Oversee the implementation and development of the IB Primary Years Programme curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.

• Staff Development: Lead professional development initiatives, mentor new educators, and conduct staff appraisals to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

• Student Welfare & Discipline: Manage student pastoral care, implement the school's code of conduct, and oversee student leadership programs.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for parents, fostering strong relationships and managing communication regarding student progress.

• Operational Oversight: Coordinate school events, manage timetabling, and ensure a safe, efficient learning environment.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Education: 

• A recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) / Bachelor’s Degree and PGCE are essential.

  
  

Professional Registration: 

• Valid registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE) is mandatory.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 - 7 years of teaching experience.

• At least 3 - 5 years in a middle or senior management role (e.g., HOD or Deputy Principal) within an international or high-performing school environment

• Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams with high emotional intelligence.

• Strong administrative, organizational, and ICT skills.

• Exceptional communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
