Description of School:

Neev, started in 2005, and we now have five preschools and Neev Academy - a full continuum IB school. A learning community of 200 teachers and 1000 children for ages 1.5 through to Year 12. Our educators encourage and develop children’s natural curiosity and knowledge.

Description of Position:

Neev recognizes and promotes the role of the Associate DP Coordinator as a pedagogical leader.

As a pedagogical leader, the role of Associate DP Coordinator is to work closely with the DP coordinator on some of the quality monitoring aspects (outlined below) of teaching and learning as part of a deliberate proactive process.

The Associate DP Coordinator is also expected to share work with the DP Coordinator on some of the routine aspects (distinguished from the point that precedes this-quality monitoring aspects) of the diploma programme--registration, subject selection, routine documentation, data entry and similar process. This constitutes the secondary responsibility.

Main Responsibilities

Work with the DP Head and DP Coordinator to coordinate, lead, and ensure effective curriculum planning and recording.

Person specification

  • An IB educator with a good understanding of teaching processes and strategies that build learning experiences of a trans/multi/inter - disciplinary nature

  • An action-oriented person with high levels of personal commitment and initiative, clarity of goals and the Neev vision & mission.

  • An ability to network and collaborate to achieve common goals by building trust of colleagues

  • Open minded, receptive and compassionate educator with an ability to connect with colleagues and collaborate to find solutions

  • Willingness to lead through collaboration, and develop a coherent team approach to the implementation and delivery of the Programme.

  • Assist the DP Coordinator in organising the programme on a day to day basis, including forward planning, general admin, programme events and professional development. High level of cultural awareness and international mindedness.

  • Ability to plan, deliver lessons which stimulate and motivate students to learn. A high performing, passionate educator with about 8-10 years teaching experience. Experience in leadership and coordination roles is desirable.

Day to day Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a 40- 50% teaching schedule, the remaining portion of the time is spent on mentoring students, working closely with the section head and DPC, sharing the responsibility of pedagogical leadership, by ensuring that the program is taught, planned and assessed collaboratively at all instructional levels.

  • Pacing of Curriculum - Ensure all procedures and timelines are strategically planned and followed for authorisation and evaluation.

  • Assessments - ensure all data pertaining to assessments is updated on a regular basis. Coordinate with HODs to ensure trackers and documentation of data is complete. Review weekly/fortnightly with the DPC.

  • Work with the DPC regarding programme curriculum issues to resolve them effectively.

  • Where departments are weak in ensuring adequate engagement and the learning outcomes aren’t evident, the ADPC must support the HODs to help bridge gaps.


  • Promote understanding of and the use of all current programme documents are made available to all programme staff members.

  • Assist the DPC with the process of developing and / or reviewing the school’s curriculum documents, including the Subject/Unit outlines, Assessment schedules, Assessment calendar, Assessment records, Reviews etc

  • Ensure that curriculum/programme, and student documentation is up to date and stored in the relevant area with a clear, shared architecture so that all stakeholders have easy access

Documentation and Resource Management

  • Make recommendations for the purchase of suitable resources to support the implementation of the programme in the classroom.

  • Be responsible for the establishment and overseeing of an inventory of resources. Keep record of all PD provided including in-school workshops, online workshops, external workshops and training programs attended etc for the evaluation forms / IB visits / action plans.

  • Work with the DPC to ensure that all requirements and procedures set by the IB, concerning the programme, are adhered to.

  • Ensures that Formative and Summative Assessments timelines are maintained Unit Planning is complete and in depth

  • Ensures that all review documents such as EE tracker, IA tracker, IA calendars are updated regularly

Involvement with DP Teachers

  • Ensure educators have access to up-to-date publications through PRC and other notifications through “coordinators-notes”

  • Distribute feedback forms from the IBO

  • Get the teachers complete exam feedback forms in time

  • Assist DPC in the Preparation of the Internal Assessment Deadline Calendar and work towards its implementation.

Involvement with Students

  • Accommodate transfer students by liaising with their former school Support the DPC with registration of students for their final exams and in submission of all relevant documents in time

  • Support the DPC with final results, enquiries and retakes

Other duties - DP Core

  • Collect the predicted grades and IA marks on time

  • Support the DPC in maintaining CAS records for all students as per the timelines calendar with the help of the CAS Coordinator

  • Support the DPC in maintaining EE records for all students as per the timelines calendar with the help of the EE Coordinator

  • Support the DPC in maintaining TOK records for all students as per the timelines calendar with the help of the TOK Coordinator

Other duties - Examinations

  • Organize the conduct of examinations, including mock examinations and orals as required with the exam department

  • Ensure the works submitted (IA) by the students are authenticated work and original

  • Document predicated grades and IA marks on time
