Anton Bruckner International School (ABIS) is currently seeking positive, energetic and experienced teachers to join us.

Key Objectives of the Position:

MYP subject teachers have the primary responsibility to promote learning and to ensure that

students have the opportunities to develop as IB learners and reach their full potential.

They commit themselves to supporting and promoting the philosophy and mission of the

school, as well as the IB. They have a responsibility to work in the school’s best interests,

support its members and act in a collegiate manner.

Teachers have a responsibility to strive to achieve the highest professional standards in all

they do at and for the school.

The responsibilities for delivering the MYP curriculum are:

  • Preparing unit planners that build on students’ previous learning experiences

  • Including the prescribed key concepts and related concepts

  • Placing appropriate emphasis on concept-driven and inquiry-based learning

  • Differentiating instructions to meet students’ learning needs and styles

  • Curriculum development and review

  • Setting and marking of work carried out at school and elsewhere

  • Plan authentic assessments

  • Assessing, recording and reporting on the academic development, progress and attainment of students

  • Promoting the general progress and well-being of individual students, classes or groups of students assigned

  • Providing guidance and advice to students on educational matters (Monitoring the progress of students, providing guidance, advice and support).

  • Making records and reports on the personal and social needs of students

  • Communicating and meeting with parents as required

  • Participating in appraisal procedures and In-Service Training

  • Cooperating with colleagues on the preparation and development of courses of study, and pastoral arrangements.

  • Participating in the co-curricular and after-school programmes in the

  • Maintaining good order and discipline among the students

  • Responsible for administrative tasks: Registration of student attendance, checking students’ diaries, collation of statistics etc when requested

  • Assisting in the planning and organizing of school events and functions

  • Supervising classes and students in cover arrangements

  • Participating in Examination invigilation duties

  • Undertaking professional duties and organizational tasks as reasonable delegated by the Head of School

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education

  • Evidence of continued relevant professional development

  • Minimum of 2 years of successful teaching experience - IB MYP experience is desirable

  • Ability to teach multiple subjects (Chemistry, Physics and Biology)

  • Some experience with curriculum development would be an advantage

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills

  • A team player, willing to promote strong collaboration between members of staff.
