The International School of Rimini (ISR) is an IBO PYP candidate school located in the historical centre of Rimini, a major international tourist destination and one of the most popular seaside resorts in Europe.
ISR was founded in 2018 and it caters for students from Early Years to Grade 6. ISR will grow a grade each year until Grade 12, when students will attain the IB Diploma, a qualification recognized by the leading universities of the world. All subjects are taught in English, except for Italian.
ISR, the first international school in its area (Romagna), will develop lifelong learners who are open-minded and empathetic global citizens, equipped with the skills needed to enable them to take action to create a just and sustainable world.

Actively engage the students in inspiring inquiry based, conceptual and constructivist learning,
contextualised through experiential learning and real life applications. Using innovative and balanced
approaches to teaching and learning and fostering a positive environment for student’s individual
growth. Actively support the school’s mission to develop students who make an active contribution as
they take their place in our ever-evolving global society.
Potentially taking on responsibilities as MYP Coordinator.
Position Requirements:
Ability to use English as language of instruction – Mother Tongue Equivalent
Teaching Qualifications appropriate to age taught / A certified professional teaching qualification at
degree level, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent specialising in teaching Math and Science at
Middle School.
A minimum of 2 years of solid and demonstrable IB MYP teaching experience within an IB Curriculum
at Middle School
Proven track-record in effective, student centric instructional strategies that motivates learners of all
kind
Ability to effectively analyse and apply data to inform instructional practices and differentiate learning
Effective communicator with ability to provide formative and constructive feedback for learning
Internationally-minded, positive interpersonal and collaborative skills
Solid organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Flexible, patient, adaptive to new/challenging situations and innovate learning environments
An open-minded and positive attitude to learners, parents and colleagues

Role Overview:
To provide a supportive, caring, risk free environment that ensures that learners are able to enjoy and
maximise their growth learning of English through an inquiry driven framework for learning.
Specific Classroom Responsibilities Include:
Teaching & Learning
Apply knowledge of varied approaches to learning in instruction, lesson planning, guided questioning,
and assessments
Utilise technology effectively, where appropriate, both in classroom, instruction, and for learning
assignments to advance the educational process and engage learners
Ensure that all learning objectives are clear and communicated effectively
To teach varied groups of learners within the class as determined by the composition and make up of
the class and the curriculum
To promote through teaching and learning the IB Learner Profile
Create a classroom environment that is safe, inclusive, engaging, student-centred, and inquiry-based
To ensure the boundaries for behavioural expectations are agreed and developed with learner
participation i.e. – Essential Agreement
Provide for the learners a differentiated programme of instruction that incorporates appropriate
challenges and high expectations of all
Deliver the curriculum within the agreed framework and philosophy of the school
To plan and coordinate lessons in accordance with the school’s planning procedures
Document each learner's progress consistently throughout the course of the year, and efficiently
collect evidence of learning and progress
Ensure that learners have regular opportunities for reflection and self - assessment
To share in the overall responsibility for the academic progress, personal development, health and
safety, discipline and well-being of all learners
To be proactive with reporting learner progress to parents outside the normal reporting process.
To participate in all agreed school based activities.
Any other reasonable duties at a level commensurate with that grade level.
Management:
To monitor, control, support and evaluate the use of grade level resources ensuring appropriate
resource deployment and the proposal of new resources for the grade level
Use student data effectively in planning for teaching and learning and design learning activities that
are differentiated in approach
To participate in school wide curriculum review and planning (internal & external) at all levels and to
coordinate such planning outcomes at Grade level
To support all school initiatives with achieving accreditation or authorization with the IBO
To encourage and actively support education outside the classroom
To actively participate in regular school assemblies
To maintain regular (weekly) contact with parents via Toddle/class newsletter
Participate in regular staff meetings and be a member of any ad hoc committees that may be needed
To share professional expertise with colleagues and parents
Work collaboratively to complete a unit planner for every statement of inquiry (SOI)/interdisciplinary
unit (IDU)
Keep up-to-date with developments in subject area/s, new research and resources, methods and
curriculum objectives
Undertake any Continuing Professional Development as requested
To take part in the school’s Performance Management Appraisal process
NB: Other duties/responsibilities deemed necessary by the school leadership may be added.
