While maintaining a strong focus on core curriculum which includes British school curriculum with Cambridge IGCSE and International Primary Curriculum, we aim to complement the formal curriculum with a series of CCAs which students’ experiences form a cornerstone of their holistic education for the 21st century. Description of Position:
To plan, coordinate and develop the Early Years Centre at UCSI International School KL in terms of curriculum, resourcing, staffing, policy, procedures and practice aligned to the vision and mission of the UCSI Schools Group.
To work with the SLT to accelerate progress for all pupils in the EYC
To support, develop and coach teaching and learning across the EYC, so that the centre delivers consistently excellent teaching.
To lead and coordinate assessment across the EYC, maximizing child and parent engagement
Knowledge And Understanding Of:
Holistic, play-oriented and inquiry-based learning in the context of the IEYC, the characteristics of effective Early Years settings, and strategies for raising young pupils’ achievement to exceeding expected levels
How to promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, character and cultural development through behaviour for learning strategies and through effective management and leadership
Shaping The Future:
Support the Principal in establishing a vision for the future of the EYC.
Play a leading role in ensuring that the quality of teaching and provision in the EYC is outstanding.
Lead whole school policy change in the EYC by modelling and supporting colleagues with direct proven impact.
Leading Teaching and Learning:
Be an excellent role model, exemplifying a high standard of EYC provision, and promoting high expectations for all members of the EYC community, with proven impact on pupil progress.
Lead on development of actions plans for the EYC.
Lead the development of EYC/Milepost 1 Primary transition to ensure continued improvement of outcomes.
Assist the Principal in leading the school through strategic planning and the formulation of policy for the EYC.
With the Principal, be responsible for implementing robust systems for monitoring and evaluating outcomes in the EYC.
Teaching one or more subjects at secondary level and organizing educational activities; plan and prepare lessons according to the prescribed/recommended curriculum; and teach relevant subjects as well as supervise schoolwork and Student discipline.
Must have at least Bachelor in Education or equivalent from a recognised overseas University with PGCE certification or equivalent.
Must have experience in teaching Cambridge IGCSE and IB syllabus with proven track record of good results. Must have experience teaching in an overseas international school.
International teachers whose first language is in English and have completed a Post Graduate Degree in Education, a Bachelor Degree in Education, a Diploma in Teaching / Education or an equivalent in countries such as Canada, The US, Ireland, The UK, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa are invited to apply.

One flight in at the beginning of contract and one flight to exit at the end of the contract
