Good Shepherd International School is located in Ootacamund (popularly known as Ooty) which is situated in the Niligirs District of Tamil Nadu in South India. The school is on a hill-station named Udhagamandalam.
Nilgiris is a part of the Western Ghats which is a mountain range that runs almost parallel to the western coast of Indian peninsula and located entirely in India. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the eight "hottest hotspots" of biological diversity in the world.
The climate in Ooty is pleasant throughout the year. In the winter (October-February), the temperatures generally venture no lower than 0°C to 5°C and range as high as 18°C. In the summer (March-September), the maximum daytime temperature is about 22°C.
