Aalesund International School (AaIS) is a young and growing school located in Aalesund, Norway. The school is an authorized PYP/MYP International Baccalaureate school and has around 120 students.
AaIS is looking to employ a positive, energetic and creative English language and literature teacher to join our dynamic team.
English language and literature teacher
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Middle Years Program (MYP) teacher to join our school from August 2023. Experience with the International Baccalaureate program is an advantage. The role is approximately 100% and consist of 54% English language and literature and can be combined with English language acquisition or Physical Health Education.
MYP English Language and Literature Qualifications and Qualities Required
Experience with the International Baccalaureate program and commitment to its educational philosophies
Preferably a Masters degree in English Language and Literature or as a minimum meet the national requirements: minimum 1 year qualification of English language and literature (60 ECT) in addition to recognized teaching degree.
Ability to meet high expectations of the school community (students, colleagues, parents, etc.)
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the capacity to build and maintain close relationships
Strong ICT skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Integrity and a strong work ethic
A high level of cultural awareness and international-mindedness
Reports to the Principal and General manager
Norwegian national requirements:
Recognized teaching qualification from before 2014, or teaching qualification minimum 1 year qualification of mathematics and literacy (30 European Credit Transfer and accumulation (ECTSs) or equivalent per subject)
A master’s degree is preferable
Reports to Principal and the General Manager (GM)
