Description of Position:
This role is about innovation & using technology to improve teaching and learning across the three sub-Schools. The role is focused on improving student outcomes, ensuring best and leading practice is explored and leading staff in innovative pedagogy.

Responsibilities specific to the role:
● Bring to AIS innovative projects, workshops, initiatives that best suit AIS clientele to improve student outcomes.
● Responsible for keeping abreast of leading practices both locally and globally to ensure AIS remains a leading centre of excellence.
● Leadership of staff to ensure continuity and progression in the digital curriculum and professional development.
● Leadership of effective pedagogy that enables staff to use technology to enhance student learning
● Oversight for co-teaching & peer observation observations: linked to innovation, co-teaching and sharing best practice Australian International School
● Bring to AIS innovative projects, workshops, initiatives that best suit AIS clientele to improve student outcomes.
● Oversight for embedding Approaches to Learning across Sub-School with a focus on student transition across year levels and curriculums.
● Oversight for initiatives that support Academic programmes.
● Oversight for Connect AIS/Google Suite/other relevant digital platforms – Teaching and Learning
● Attend to other duties as requested by the Principal
● Develop and execute a strategic plan to enable innovation at AIS.
● Lead a range of professional learning opportunities with staff and the wider community.
● Identify pedagogical frameworks for the discussion of learning innovation in context.
● Document innovative practices both for both public and internal discussion.
● Build staff capacity to become leaders in learning innovation.
● Engage the wider community in learning initiatives.
● Lead changes to physical learning spaces that boost opportunities for innovation.
● Evaluate emerging learning technologies for use within AIS.
● Collaborate with the IT Manager around technical initiatives such as device deployments and virtual learning environments.
Position Requirements:
● A teacher with solid leadership experience in Academic teams
● Excellent understanding of digital literacy from a teaching and learning perspective
● Experience in chairing meetings and producing executive reports
● Solid understanding of Curriculum (EY-Framework, PYP, IBDP, HSC, IGCSE, AC)
● Conflict resolution skills
● Initiative and the ability to work independently
● Excellent communication skills with staff, students and parents at all levels
● Attendance at and support of school events outside of standards school hours
Selection Criteria:
● A minimum 4 year teaching qualification from a recognised institution; higher qualifications would be an advantage
● A minimum of 4 years of experience in a Senior Leadership position within an educational institution
● Experience within an international school environment would be an advantage
● Excellent English-language written and verbal communication skills
● Excellent understanding of data and using data to inform Teaching and Learning
● The ability to work across all levels of the school community including teachers, School Executive, students and parents.
