Description of School:

Kosice International School is the first international school in Eastern Slovakia. Our school delivers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) with a particular focus on technology-enhanced learning.

KEIS serves children from 5 to 12 in primary school, from next school year (2022/23) we will open Early Years (3-5 years) as well as Middle School classrooms where we aim to work on IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) authorization. Due to this positive growth, we now require an Early Years PYP Classroom Teacher and experienced MYP Coordinator/MYP Teachers to join the team!

This is an exciting opportunity for IB educators to help pioneer a candidate IB World School that will drive the future progress of the Kosice region.

Description of Position:

We are looking to employ a positive, passionate and motivated Design teacher to join our school for a full-time teaching position. We currently serve students at the MYP 1 and MYP 2 levels, with plans to expand further into a full 5-year MYP program. In collaboration with the MYP coordinator, you will be an integral part of building the aforementioned subjects’ units and designing meaningful curriculum that engages learners.


The successful candidate will:

  • Have relevant teaching qualifications and proven teaching experience in an IB MYP setting.

  • Have experience teaching MYP design combined with science, math or other MYP subject/s.

  • Possess knowledge of educational theories and the IB pedagogical framework.

  • Demonstrate strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.

  • Model an inquiry approach to teaching and learning.

  • Have experience implementing technology into inquiry-based learning.

  • Enjoy teaching and working in an internationally-minded environment.

  • Be of native-level English language abilities.

  • Be an EU or UK citizen (preferable but not required).

  • Hold a Category 1 IB training certificate in Design (preferable but not required)


  • Along with fulfilling full time teaching requirements (max. 23 contact hours), responsibilities for this position include:

  • Documenting the inquiry, action, and reflection portions of each unit on Toddle

  • Maintaining subject overviews for your taught subject(s)

  • Actively participating in a weekly individual collaborative planning meeting with the MYP coordinator

  • Engaging in a horizontal/vertical weekly planning meeting with MYP staff

  • Performing duty care as outlined by the school’s duty schedule
