Teaching Responsibilities:
Delivering high-quality instruction in Management and Economics subjects to IBDP students.
Planning and implementing engaging and rigorous lesson plans that align with the IB curriculum standards.
Providing clear explanations of complex concepts and facilitating student discussions to enhance understanding.
Using a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Assessing student learning through formative and summative assessments, including exams, projects, and presentations.
Providing constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth and development.
Monitoring student progress and addressing individual learning needs as necessary.
Curriculum Development:
Collaborating with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum materials, including lesson plans, assessments, and teaching resources.
Staying informed about current educational trends and best practices in Management and Economics education.
Incorporating real-world examples and case studies into instruction to make learning relevant and engaging for students.
Integrating technology and multimedia tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
IBDP Coordination:
Serving as a key member of the IBDP teaching team and participating in program planning and evaluation.
Collaborating with other IBDP teachers and coordinators to ensure alignment of curriculum and assessment practices.
Supporting students in their preparation for IB assessments, including internal and external examinations.
Maintaining accurate records of student progress and assessment results in accordance with IB regulations.
Professional Development:
Engaging in ongoing professional development activities to enhance subject knowledge and teaching skills.
Participating in faculty meetings, workshops, and training sessions to stay updated on IB requirements and guidelines.
Seeking opportunities for professional growth and networking within the IB community.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is often preferred.
Teaching certification or licensure, depending on the requirements of the school or jurisdiction.
Experience teaching Management and Economics subjects at the secondary level, preferably within an IB or similar international curriculum.
Familiarity with the IB Diploma Programme, including its philosophy, objectives, and assessment principles.
Strong content knowledge in Management and Economics, with the ability to teach at a high level of academic rigor.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
Organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in lesson planning, assessment design, and record-keeping.
Adaptability and flexibility to meet the diverse needs of students and the demands of the IB curriculum.
Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to support teaching and learning.
