The Affiliated Foreign Language School of South China Normal University (SCNUFL) is a private foreign language school located in the Science town, Guangzhou;

We are seeking professional and passionate IB teachers. The successful candidates must have a desire to work within a multicultural working environment and have good understanding of IB pedagogies.
In the International Education Program of the SCNU, we believe that our students should be global citizens while being ground in their home culture. We believe that our students should be life-long learners who master skills and excel in all endeavors.
We are an IB candidate school with Grades 1-5 with a sixth grade being added in the 20/21 academic year.

Application for Position:
Our PYP Art Teacher play a critical role in imparting essential art and creative skills to students in relevant, and realistic contexts. Art teachers engage students in an active learning process, where they are provided with possibilities to interact with manipulatives, and to engage in conversations with others so as to reflect on their understandings and make connections about their learning. Arts Teachers work collaboratively with other arts teachers and grade level to support the Units of Inquiry, as well as Head of Arts and Program coordinators. They are responsible for preparing and implementing a holistic learning plan for the subjects under their purview in line with the school’s philosophy.
As well as scheduled classes, we also ask our teachers to teach two clubs during school time (this could be a language, sport, arts, or anything of interest).
Additionally, you will be responsible for implemented the school’s positive behavior management policy.
Additional duties include:
Developing and applying lesson plans.
Utilizing assessment to inform your teaching.
Develop and maintain a positive learning environment.
Being professional in your conduct towards students and colleagues.
Contributing to the school newsletter
Promoting and celebrating student’s artistic achievements
Supporting the school community
Native (or near native) English speaker
Must have a PGCE or similar.
Demonstrated Teaching Experience
IB experience is ideal however, a desire to work in an IB environment is a must.
Must have a positive and professional personality with great energy and sense of humour.
Basic technology skills (understanding of Apple and the Microsoft Office Suite)
Experience with ESL students will be beneficial.

The school follows the Chinese Lunar Calendar. This means that there is no Christmas break but it is compensated with a longer break for Chinese New Year.
