Description of Position:

The IB Coordinator leads SEK Budapest’s IB Program across all subject areas, supporting teachers to develop and implement an intellectually rigorous curriculum. In order to model exemplary IB instruction, the Coordinator also teaches in the program part-time. This is an ideal role for an experienced IB teacher who is looking to grow in a critical school leadership role.

Key duties include:

  • Plan and execute all aspects of the IB program, including planning and implementing IB training, assisting with unit planning, and other professional development

  • Teach a part-time course load - preferably TOK

  • Support evaluation of student capstone projects

  • Serve as liaison between the International Baccalaureate and the School, including coordinating and facilitating the program assessments

  • Serve as liaison between the elementary and middle schools, ensuring alignment with the IB across K-12

  • Work with the Director and the Finance Director to develop and implement the IB budget


  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Fluent or native English

  • Experience of teaching IB Curriculum is essential

  • Knowledge of all principles and components of the IB Diploma Program

  • Ability to lead an academic team in program design, implementation, and evaluation

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
