The International School Treviso is a co-educational day school for early years and primary students.
Our school offers* the Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organization. The internationally recognized curriculum is delivered in English with additional Italian language hours (primary), in order to achieve the national educational requirements.

Job Purpose Summary
A classroom teacher at The IS Treviso fulfils the key responsibilities and accountabilities of a professional educator of children in Elementary grades. The suitable applicant will have the opportunity to become the PYP Lead Teacher, responsible for recording and assessments.
The position of classroom teacher is that of an educator who:
Creates and plans transdisciplinary units of inquiry from which lessons are taught and supports this with written planning;
Develops and teaches a course of study according to the schoolʼs grade-level scope and sequence;
Is able to plan lessons that assist primarily English as an Additional Language (EAL) students;
Tailors lessons for several levels of academic ability within the same classroom, bearing in mind different learning styles and prior experiences:
Incorporates the Essential Elements of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) into inquiry-based, constructivist learning experiences within the classroom;
Collaborates with other teachers in planning on a regular basis.
Presents lessons by way of differentiated instruction methods (including ICT) that support primarily EAL students;
Examines, re-examines and reflects upon teaching practices in order to provide the best possible opportunities to explore the transdisciplinary units of inquiry across the curriculum and beyond;
Provides a stimulating learning atmosphere within the classroom;
Models for students the character attributes of the IB Learner Profile;
Uses excellent written and oral English skills when communicating;
Observes the classroom expectations handbook, involving care and within maintenance of the classroom.
Monitors, assists, corrects and assesses student results by preparing assessments according to IB assessment strategies and tools;
Observes the Essential Agreements on assessment created by teachers and set within the Assessment, Recording and Reporting Handbook;
Maintains student portfolios and assessment records according to assessment guidelines and under the time constraints required;
Maintains order in the classroom and provides a safe, secure and healthy educational environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with all legal regulations;
Informs parents by maintaining records of academic performance, attendance and social acclimation, reporting on all elements of student development at parent-teacher meetings, both regularly scheduled and as-needed;
Complies with set IST guidelines and contributes professional feedback at all IST meetings
Maintains strict confidentiality in regard to students and their records;
Provides student support services by monitoring play areas, restrooms and dining hall facilities, maintaining weekly after-school club(s) and leading students on field trips;
Attends scheduled staff/committee meetings;
Contributes professional expertise in the development and writing of collaborative school policies and procedures;
Completes all required annual IB professional development workshops/classes/seminars;
Provides for the safety of school-bought resources;
Attends scheduled school open days as set out within the school calendar;
Represents the school within the broader community with professional conduct that supports the mission of the school;
Enhances the schoolʼs reputation by accepting requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment.

We offer a highly attractive remuneration package based on a 2 year contract, with the possibility to be turned into permanent contract. IB Professional Development offered.
