Saint-Charles is an IB Candidate school who has been serving the Canton of Jura (Switzerland) for over 120 years with the traditional Swiss Curriculum. We are expanding our offering to provide students with a more robust offering. We are a small school located in a picturesque town working with local and foreign students. There is a huge opportunity for candidates to offer leadership and direction to our program as we prepare for our authorization visit in Spring 2020.
Description of Position:
The IB Diploma Coordinator will coordinate the development and implementation of the IB Diploma Program (Grades 11-‐12) in the Secondary School.
Curricular and Instructional Leadership:
Ensure Gr. 11-‐12 IB Diploma curriculum is articulated, well organized, and aligned with IB DP curriculum.
Assists teachers in developing unit plans and instructional practices that support the effective delivery of the IB Diploma Program.
Oversee curriculum review and facilitate curriculum development that supports the themes of internationalism, holistic awareness, communication, and intercultural understanding.
Ensure that student performance data is used to improve educational programs and student learning.
Orients students, parents, and faculty to the IB Diploma Program.
Keep parents informed about the IB DP by providing orientation and information sessions.
Coordinates the Extended Essay.
Prepare and update the school’s IB Diploma calendar, publications and records.
Coordinates the scheduling, collection, and submission of IB Internal Assessments.
Coordinates the administration of internal IB Mock Exams and external IB Examinations.
Ensure that the school meets IB regulations and deadlines.
Identifies professional development needs and coordinates and/or leads professional development activities that support the implementation of IB Diploma Program.
Collaborate with the Director and MYP Coordinator to ensure the secondary curriculum and instruction fully support and create a smooth transition to the Diploma Program.
Collaborate with MYP coordinator regularly to ensure articulation of the IB Programs.
Coordinate and Supervise the CAS Program
Reviews student progress and reports and assists with an intervention program for at-risk students.
Possesses a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and extensive knowledge and understanding of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.
Ability to provide informed instructional leadership -aware of current best practices in curriculum, pedagogy and assessment, particularly in the context of the IB Diploma Program.
Organizational ability, initiative, and effective communicative and interpersonal skills.
Experience using technology applications that enhance communication, organizational operations, and school improvement efforts.
Dependent upon experience:
Salary: 80-95, 000 CHF
Housing: off campus, not provided
Dependent Tuition: 50% of school fees
Professional Development: school will pay for approved courses
Board: meals on campus provided at a reduced price
